La Locanda Stella is a B&B in Perugia offering 7 rooms located above the Restaurant, where you can combine the experience of staying the night with a customized breakfast (strictly home-made and served at the table) and evening meal with traditional Umbrian cuisine.
La Locanda was born as an extension of the Restaurant and as a continuation of the hospitality activities begun in 1982 by Silvia’s parents, reflecting fully the slow philosophy of the typical restaurant and Gourmet Hotel in Umbria: respect for the territory and awareness of tradition to emphasize their unique and inimitable qualities.
La Locanda is therefore the natural evolution of the way we conceive hospitality in Umbria: a Gourmet hotel close to Perugia furnished with simple, tough materials, without reference to time and place. All this is the fruit of work by craftsmen, second-hand dealers and artists who have seen, thought, understood and enhanced good things.
The furnishing of our rooms is handmade as far as possible, recovering old barrels, wooden planks, iron, pipes, hats and textiles. For this reason, we have decided to attribute prime numbers to them, to emphasize their uniqueness and special qualities.
As well as the seven lodging formulas, all equipped with air conditioning and Wi-Fi, la Locanda makes available to its guests a common area, a cosy saloon in which they can meet, sip a drink or read a book borrowed from our library.
Excellent restaurant. It feels at home. Excellent value for money. When you eat wild boar and it is more tender than butter, there is little to say. Very well.

Stella has been a point of reference in Perugia for years. The restaurant is very elegant, many details make it welcoming, the dining room staff is polite and well-prepared and above all the menu is full of surprises. Attention to seasonality and quality local raw materials are the masters.

For Slow Food, the city’s hostelry par excellence, starting from its wine list which pays great attention to bio and the territory. Also available by the glass. We seek the best from every corner of Umbria, including freshwater products – see our dishes such as linguine with smoked tench and roast eel. Then, the meats of Visso (taste the rare handmade ham), stringhetti, tripe…and the excellent homemade ice cream.
